The Building is located between the Gym and the Square House, with the floating bridge design still allowing the green space below to be used. The site's sun path was taken into consideration when constructing the curved shape, to allow as much light as possible to still reach the lawn.
As north is to the bottom right corner of the following photo, the building was elevated and curved towards the south to keep the Gym Lawn bright and usable.
A wing containing private spaces is to the left, and the larger public wing is to the right:
The conceptual theory focused on natural forms and organic curves interacting with the landscape, and this is definitely expressed through the curving foot bridge linking the Square House, new building, the street level, and also spanning Anzac Parade to provide access to the NIDA building and bus stops on the other side.
The textures emulate organic forms, and the stark black and white contrasts against the warm toned surrounding materials.
